 | To clear up the little musical discussion I just listened to the Atlanta show. It is of course true that there is a change from D to E flat between 2nd and 3rd verse (haven´t they done that quite often before?) and in that performance Art struggles a bit the A flat but holds the final G quite nicely. Not too bad.
However there is no doubt that Art´s voice is not what it used to be, but I guess Nobody really expected that a clear "boyish" voice like that would age with grace, or? |

 | 1. I guess it shows that they´re not trying to pretend everything was recorded at the same show. Honesty?
2. Good point about the mics!! I never noticed!!
3. I´ll have to listen again...
4. Ditto Paul, when he says that Artie has added so much to his songs. I guess the simple answer is that this was the beginning of the tour, when they were fresh and excited, and we saw them later on. Like anything, if you have to do the same thing over and over again, especially a music performance, you inevitably lose the freshness that you had at the beginning, however hard you try.
Now here´s a question for you all - what was the fourth song from the Everly´s that didn´t get in the DVD? I´ve forgotten!!!! Julie, you must remember...! |

 | The missing song of the Everlys was "Let it be me"... A pitty that it is cut off, but if I had to kick on song out of the DVD, it would have been this one.

 | I think they´ve both done very well with their voices, when you consider some of their contemporaries. Paul McCartney´s voice went quite early - on the 1976 Wings Over America he misses the top note in Maybe I´m Amazed. He was 35 at the time! Rod Stewart, Elton John, Greg Lake - must be lots more who can´t get those top notes any more. So hats off to Artie! |

 | You are kidding right? McCartney was at his best in 1976, and one mistake in Maybe I´m amazed doesn´t matter.. he sang the high notes on every other song during that tour...
And now he sings better than he has since 1982.
As Artie goes.. I heard a bootleg recording från 1999 where he din´t sing good at all and I was almost ashamed, But on the new dvd he sings great! |

 | I think it´s more accurate to say that McCartney has found a way round his limitations. He can´t do his Little Richard voice, but he can do a reasonable imitation of it, so he can still sing some of the Old songs. It´s not a criticism - if I could sing like McCartney, Rod, Elton, etc. as they are now I would be very happy!! |

 | I saw them quite early in the tour (and later I saw them at one of the last shows on the tour - which was really funny because Paul forgot his lines and went off on a tangent and it was cute) and I could still tell it was staged. Of course a lot of the emotion is false but it´s all in fun. |
