lost, I don´t know how Old you are but you will have to live into this world and to choose your point of view, because we are all responsible. it´s a solution to ignore what a man can do to another man, but it won´t help you growing up !

Gee, it´s great to be back here, and to stumble onto such a great discussion, none the less!

First, about Paul Simon . . . Paul Simon has played for the American Civil Liberties Union, hosted a $1 Million dollar fundraiser for Kerry, and I´m sure his new album will deal with the war, and he was against Iraq from the start . . . saying the American people weren´t "getting enough information" and he was going to keep a close eye on what was happening. I don´t believe, after all this, it is fair to call Paul a "coward" for not standing up and screaming about Bush.

After the Old Friends tour, I myself wouldn´t be willing to go out and tour again so soon for the Kerry tour . . . Vote for Change, was it? So let´s be reasonable. The man can´t be expected to tour constantly and perform constantly. He´s done what he can right at home.

Plus, as Turkey has said it so wonderfully (well done, girl!), our Paul is a musician, not a politician. He doesn´t write "angry" songs against the government and scream about it in publice.

He is there to take care of the people of the world, more so than the politics of America. No matter what happens, his main goal is to be there, with his music, to soothe and comfort us in hard times. Not to make judgments and isolate fans and friends with loudmouth political statements. I rest my case.

Now, about the pictures . .. I respect Bodo´s wishes and he makes sense, but I still think it´s in bad taste. For the record, I´m against the war and against Bush, and I believe that condoning the murder shown in these pictures is like condoning merciless killing All Around The World.

Violence starts with one person saying "That´s Ok" and making excuses. With that attitude, violence will never stop. Peace starts with one person standing up and saying, "That Iraqi´s life is worth just as much as my own. Stop this childish insanity called war."

And it´s true. Iraqis are worth just as much as Americans. It´s saddens me that 100,000 innocent Iraqis have died, and yet all the American media talks about is how over 1,000 American troops have died. 3,000 died in 9/11, which was a tragedy, but Americans seem to think that 3,000 losses of their own justifies 100,000 losses for them. I expect for from the American public. More compassion, I guess.

So the pictures have done a just cause, by getting us thinking, but Bodo, I can´t stand the sight of them. I see them everywhere. I would prefer you take them down, but it´s fine if you keep them up. It´s your site and obviously you have great reasons, so it´s fine by me either way.

It´s just, well . . . Paul Simon is the man I turn to in order to help me get through hard times. He´s there, as I stated before, to soothe and comfort and keep us thinking, not to unnerve us. Perhaps his fan sites should have the same attitude . . .?

Wonderful words about Paul, Brandy. His music is the most important, and not just in hard times, I also enjoy his songs when I feel happy. He is the one that showed us that we can collaborate together with his Graceland album and ROTS.

but Turkey can you not see the hypocrisy of being against abortion ( or pro life as they say in this "wonderful catholic" country of Ireland) and yet be for war. ie life only matters if to the unborn and not the living.
now to your last sentence, I completely agree. I´ve all my PS music on my iPod and all the other music that I like opera jazz as well as popular music (>2000 song). I have it set to shuffle so I get a PS song every 10th song or so. I don´t know what I´ll hear but its liking hearing the song afresh each time and appreciating it each time. Try it everyone then you realise its hard to pick least likes and most likes.

Or, to be more accurate, George Bush cares more about the American unborn than the Iraqi living.

And making abortion illegal won´t stop it, it´ll just force it to become back-alley kind of stuff, which means a lot of desperate women with suffer at the hands of twisted, unqualified doctors. I´ve heard horror stories of illegal abortions killing women, or damaging their reproductive organs beyond repair. I find George Bush to be terribly narrow-minded. Just because he is pro-life doesn´t give him the right to take away our right to choose!

But I disgress, I just had to say that. Glad you agreed what I said about Paulie . . . now enough about all this . . .

Aren´t you all exicted about his upcoming album? Will it be out this spring, do you think?
