Can´t say anything but that I would gladly accept it - if I had been in the neighbourhood. ;P

Hope you find someone, Bodo.

Hi Bodo...as I told you, Miriam Makeba was in Zurich a few weeks ago. I didn´t make it to the show, but a few friends of mine were there. They all said that Miriam was quite Old and a little tired, but the show was absolutely great.

(Don´t worry about the comments of the old and tired Miriam.... my friends are not as used into watching old artists as we all are ;o) )

Hi Kuno

I guess I will not see Miriam Makeba.... I´m really angry..my tickets are away now.
I geve them into our save at home, 5 months ago. Now they aren´t there.

I don´t have any idea where these tickets are now.... 120 Euros away...

So, I´m back now.

I got my tickets printed again from ticketservice, because I paid with credit card and they had all records about them. - And then 2 ladies came and had the same tickets. They had mine! Don´t know where they got them, bought over internet or anywhere else... they got my ´stolen´ tickets.
Anyway, these ladies went away (think they got other places).

Miriam Makeba is Old yes, thats true. She is 72 now and told it to us a few times - making jokes about her age. But she never was tired. (well, IMO she is more lively than Paul) She danced around all the time, smiled and was very symphatic. The only sad thing was that the show is too short. It was 1 1/2 hour...ok maybe thats very long for a 72 year old dancing around. On background vocals she had her granddoughter Zenzi (Miriam Makebas original first name is also Zenzi).

Pictures from a concert in September on this tour (she was wearing the same clothes in salzburg ;-) )

Think she looks very good for a 72 year old...and never tired ;-)

That is her granddaughter Zenzi.. she also sang 1 song alone.

more pictures

At the end of the concert Miriam Makeba said that this is the last time she was here... but in the newspaper they wrote that she said she will come one more time and this will be the last time then...mh. Well, we understood it the other way.

No Scaaty. He never played with Paul. None of these musicians played with Paul as far as I know.

I was hoping that maybe Bakithi Kumalo will play bass, but it was another musician (Bakithi has played on some albums of Makeba and I guess live with her too)

The band was half as good as Paul´s band - that means in other words "they are very good" ;-)
The background musicians are better than Paul´s one. The guy with the long rastas has an extrem deep voice (deeper than Vincent at the intro of ´Diamonds´)
