What is your opinion now about the bonus tracks released a few months ago with the new box?
Do you listen to them from time to time?



Well, I must admit I´ve never listened to them on the official webpage (lack of time, no speakers in my office...slow bandwith at home, no interest ;-) )

Now I´ve heard the tracks on a ebay auction (I wondered why people pay more than 116$ [still runing for 1 day] when it costs 99?)
In July I thought that songs like Spiral Highway or All because of you are really unreleased unfinished tracks. I was surprised, these are just demos of other released tracks. Well, I didn´t like them. It was strange to hear a good song with other lyrics. It made me feel I´m in a movie where a well know actor got another ´new´ sync-voice (for the german translation)


Then I tought that the other demos or ´early takes´ are really different from the released songs. But to my Surprise I couldn´t hear much difference (except that the demos are sounding rough and bad mixed)

Think the only real interesting demos are Homeless and Loves Me Like A Rock for me. They sound at least more different to the original song.Shelter of your Arms (it is an early version of "When Numbers Get Serious" I guess?) is the only real new song for me.

I haven´t heard them full. That´s right. But when I listen to the demos of The Coast or Spirit Voices they don´t sound very different to me (from the original song)
I thought they would sound extreme different.

I´ve got the demo for "Train In The Distance" from the re-released Hearts And Bones, and it´s now one of my favourite songs. The released version always struck me as too overproduced (blocked out the raw emotion of the lyrics, I believe) but the demo is flawless. Just Paul and his beautiful guitar playing. I don´t even listen to the recorded version anymore. The demo is a better track, I personally think that version should´ve gotten onto the album as a final version in the first place.

I agree! Paul´s acoustic demos are to die for! I wish there was more of American Tune and Duncan. It is interesting to see how these great tracks evolved! I LOVE IT!
