I know that Paul has just recently released a boxed set of all his solo albums to date. I have all of his solo albums already, but this boxed set contains a lot of rare outtakes. If anyone has it, can you please tell me if it is worth buying?
Thanks!

Isa, I think the worth of the boxed set is a matter of opinion...I purchased the set through EBay for $100...My main reason for getting it was that it´s out there...it exists....I, as you, have all his solo CD´s...but I also like having this boxed set..the individual CD´s I have are all over the place..in the car..in the stereo...in the kitchen CD...this I can keep all together....in one place....in this neat little box with the facsimile of his handwriting all over it...I guess whether you purchase the set or not depends on whether you consider yourself a PS nutcase, as I unabashedly admit to being....The outtakes had nothing to do with my purchase...

IMO it´s not worth alone for the outtakes, demos and live performances.
You will listen to these demos for 1 time and then never again. Thats not worth 100$ for me.

The other reason (having the box) means also nothing to me... I even don´t knwo what doing with all the CD jewel cases I have... they only need a lot of space :-(
I have all the songs on my PC and rarely play one of the CD´s.

For me it was worth buying.
The sound quality is a little better than on the first releases.
The length of the outtakes and demos sums up to about 110 minutes.

I have been listening to the CDs (and especially the bonus tracks) more than once!
However I miss a real booklet for the whole box set. Some of the bonus tracks are rather weak IMHO (Spiral Highway, Homeless), but most are either good demo performances (many even with classical nylon string guitars which he hasn´t played for a while), completely different versions of known songs (Gone At Last, Paranoia Blues), early versions with slightly different melodies or lyrics (Let Me Live In Your City = Something So Right) or great unknown songs (Shelter Of Your Arms, Shoplifting Clothes).
Expensive - but I Love it!

Each of the remastered albums is available, you don`t need to buy them all.

The sound of the albums of the seventies is much better than the originals, almost another world.

They also contain fascinating demos.

"Paul Simon" : Me and julio. Much more impressing the demo of Duncan and a better complete version of Paranoia Blus than on the original.

"There goes...": Let me live in your city, a fascinating acoustic version of "Something So Right", which I think is a little overproduced on the official record, Take Me To The Mardi Gras, Loves Me Like A Rock in different keys, also American
Tune.

Still crazy: A strong beat on Slip slidin` away and Gone at last, very good.

I think these three are must-haves, the other ones are more interesting if you like the bonus-material. The sound is better, but not to such degree as the seventies-albums.

If you don´t want the whole albums, which are worth it IMO, you can probably buy individual tracks on iTunes or some other track-by-track digital music service.

Except iTunes stopped with heart & bones. I´ve sent them a message to complete the series. If more people requested them maybe iTunes will.
I had just replaced my Old tapes ( and records) with CDs when the box set came out.
