 | HMV had a great sale this month and I decided to buy a couple of S&G CDs, because oddly enough I don´t have all S&G on CD.
Anyway, one of the CDs I baught was Sound Of Silence complete with bonus tracks...Great!!! Listened to it...Wonderful.
Then last night I was watching Pauls Paris concert and loved listening to Homeward Bound and decided to get my CDs out and listen to it.
But I couldn´t find it. And I was VERY sure it was on Sound Of Silence. Then I pulled out my Old tape and there it was! How strange I thought to myself.
SOooooooo I grabbed one of my books and checked out the discography....´Homeward Bound did not appear on the American release of Sound Of Silence.´
Marverlous, damned Legacy decide NOT to have it on ANY of the CDs, regardless of country and where it was originally released. So now I´m peeved because I don´t have it on CD...And blah blah blah!!
Hugs

 | No Kuno....It was late and I wasn´t totally listening. I also was half listenig for a baby waking up, so I wasn´t totally focused. But I shall take a listen again :-)
As for Homeward Bound ~ It´s very interesting about the difference in US & UK releases. Now when I read the comment that it was on PSR&T I thought..."No it´s not!" so I popped up stairs and looked at my cassette (I haven´t got it on CD yet) and it´s not there. SO I pulled out "The Boy In The Bubble" by Patrick Humphries and it says in there that Homeward Bound appeared on the US release of PSR&T.
Now why mess about doing thta? Why could they have been on one album or the other from the start. Obviously all my cassettes and vinyl albums where UK release and creating confusion in the long run *eye´s roll.*
Well I ma releaved to know thta when I goto HMV and hand over my Monopoly money and purchase said CD it will have HB on it :-)
Thanks guys for brining this info to my attention.
Hugs

 | Hi Micky,
the original, studio version is on the 1969 Parsley Sage R and T album (Track 4). The version on the 1968 Sounds Of Silence album is a live version. (Track 7)
Hugs to you. |

 | I hate it when they mix studio and live-tracks on one album !

 | Homeward Bound sounds best on the Greatest hits and on the acoustic live recordings. |

 | Are the recordings on the greatest Hits album made specially for that album or were they taken from other albums. I have only the LP (vinyl) and this info is not available on it |
