On Saturday night Paul Simon played his 1973 hit American Tune during his induction into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. The induction ceremony took place in Sanders Theater at Harvard University. Founded in 1780, the Cambridge, Mass. based academy is one of the country´s oldest learned societies. Its membership includes more than 250 Nobel laureates, some 100 Pulitzer Prize winners and many of the world´s most celebrated artists and performers. It is nice to see Paul inducted into so many honorable institutions, but did anyone ever realize that Paul Simon has no star on the Walk of fame in Hollywood ? Even musicians from outside the states have their own star on that street...
