WASHINGTON (CP) - Simon and Garfunkel fans will want to find a way to tune into the American public broadcaster, NPR, on Saturday.
Although the two musicians rarely do interviews together, National Public Radio's Weekend Edition will have the pair for the only radio interview they're doing to promote this summer's tour of the U.S. and Europe. Even better, Art Garfunkel will introduce the first new Simon and Garfunkel song to be released in more than three decades.
The song, by Paul Simon, is called Citizen of the Planet.
An extended version of the interview, along with songs and photographs, will be available at https://www.npr.org.>http://https://www.npr.org.
Excerpts from the duo's forthcoming Old Friends tour CD will be featured during the interview, giving fans a chance to hear how the pair have updated their old songs for the road.
There are no Canadian dates on this leg of the Old Friends tour, which follows their tremendously popular tour of the same name last year.
Simon and Garfunkel won six Grammy awards together including a Lifetime Achievement award in 2003. |
