Stevie Wonder to Join Stars Paying Tribute to Paul Simon

On May 23 Paul Simon will be honored at Washington´s Warner Theatre when he receives the first-ever Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. An all-star roster of his peers will be on hand to pay tribute´”most notably the legendary Stevie Wonder, whose addition was just announced today.
Also scheduled among the performers:Yolanda Adams, Marc Anthony, Dixie Hummingbirds, Jerry Douglas, Art Garfunkel, Philip Glass, Alison Krauss, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Lyle Lovett, Stephen Marley, James Taylor and Buckwheat Zydeco. Presenters will include former poet laureate Billy Collins, Bob Costas and Lorne Michaels, with more t.b.a.
Tickets to the event are currently on sale via Ticketmaster, although folks unable to make the trek will be able to view it on June 29 when PBS airs it nationally. |
