The Werewolf seems very good !

The background sound of Street Angel actually seem to have the werewolf participating in the background (joke) !

Proof of Love makes me thing a lot about the acoustic part and gentle part of That's Me (Surprise).

I think we will have more than a few songs to put between our teeth !

Agree Warewolf seems very great and proof of love also and I like cool papa bell and Insomnia Lulleby also and wristband is not so bad so not so bad of a man who have wrote so many song at it would be diffecult to get new ideas what to write about and find melodies to them.

I agree with both of you. The Werewolf sounds fantastic. The title track kinda reminds me of Further to Fly and She Moves On. As usual, it looks like a great album. Paul Simons the only artist I know of who really doesn't release bad albums. Though I guess that's because he takes a half a decade for each one. Haha Oh and The Clock sounds like something to play while stoned. Lol

At NPR the whole album (11 Songs, 40 Minutes) will be available to hear on May 26, as they promise.

At the beginning the interviewer names Paul as the most important living (American) Songwriter.

So Bob Dylan is not dead, but I doubt whether he would still be able to create such a fresh, daring and appealing Longplayer as Stranger to Stranger.

Well i guess we're all here because we love Paul's music to a greater or lesser degree. But to suggest he is a more 'important' songwriter than Bob Dylan seems to me to be nonsense.

And to try to enhance the reputation of one artist by decrying the work of another..hmmm. For what it is worth I've enjoyed all the recent work by both artists who each continue to create great music ..but a few years ago I'd have rated Tempest ahead of SBOSW.

As for Stranger to Stranger, i hope at least it will be up there with the best of Paul's own work....the fact that they are leading off with Wristband (more Pigs, Sheep and Wolves style spoken vocals ?).....again hmm... it is a concern, I'd prefer if it turned out not to be representative of the album. I am more hopeful having heard the other clips, that like Surprise and ROTS, the sonic palette is really going to fly off the turntable when taken as a whole.... I think Dylan's Fallen Angels is wonderful by the way.

Hi Baggy,

of course you are right. And if somebody says, Nick Drake was the best singer-songwriter ever, it is ok too. Or Neil Young as living example. It is odd to discuss music quality or whether Rembrandt was more important than Andy Warhol. Waste of time.

But you have to read ten times the name Bob Dylan, before you can find one mentioning of Paul Simon.

And Bob Dylan, like Leonard Cohen, cannot sing. And his voice gets worth in contrast to Simon`s, who, interestingly enough, always wanted a better voice. Some of Dylan`s songs like Mr. Tambourine Man became hits sung by others.

Nevertheless I like a lot of Dylan-Songs sung by Dylan, especially Knockin` on Heaven`s Door, Hurricane (11 minutes long), Changin` of the guards (7 minutes long) etc. They are fresh and show, that Dylan wasn`t a perfectionist in the studio, whereas Simon sometimes should have been less careful. But on TGRS he recorded six songs in three days, the result was great. But sometimes he thinks too much. His output in 52 years is less than 4 songs per year.

I would never go into one of Dylan`s concerts. Paul Simon and Bob Dylan toured in 1999, none of them was insisting to be the main act. They did 4 songs together. Since Dylan was or is on his never ending tour, he could not fill very large places alone, Simon neither.

Let`s hope they continue to live...

Now the Album Stranger to stranger can be heard at NPR in full, but unfortunately not in my region. I am just a poor boy, empty as a pocket.
