Paul Simon was joined on stage by a roster of star guests as he played to 50,000 fans at Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park, his first UK gig for several years.

What are ´several years´? One?

The set was a slow burner and the crowd took a little while to get warmed up;
Eh, yes if you expected some Britney Spears songs it was a slow burner. How on earth can someone write that? Simon strictly played charting hitsingles.

It is really sad that today people without any knowledge are writting newspaper articles.

Happened here also in the newspapers, they don't know what they are talking about. It seems that they all copy the lines from each other. The crowd at Ziggodome was very enthusiastic from the start, recognized the songs immediately and listened to the less well known song Dazzling Blue. It looks like listening to songs in concert doesn't count anymore these days.

Indeed. The article in De Telegraaf (which ia the biggest newspaper in the Netherlands) wrote an article on the Ziggodome concert in Amsterdam of July 18, 2012... And it made no sense at all. Not in the many negative remarks only, but even on the few positive remarks I disagreed. It's simple, you should not listen to the criticism at all and judge for yourself...

Perhaps he should delivered a bit of beatboxing during 'Me & Julio...' instead of all that whistling and some body popping during the bass solo of 'You Can Call Me Al' would have been great ;)

First UK gig in several years - just seen that! Oh dear...

...including the 2004 Simon & Garfunkel concerts, since 2000, he has played UK in 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2011 and 2012. That is seven times in 13 years. We are blessed.

Another good review. This time from Brussells. I love the English translation!

De Volkskrant (another Dutch paper) was also pretty negative. I don't care. I had a great time.

Thank God there are also a few good reviews from people who understand Paul's music and performance and know what's it all about.

I’m a journalist myself, and I have never understood why reviews are written with so much lag on education. I’m always hoping that I will be better informed about the things I don’t know anything about, then I’m about the things I know something about.
