A fine review from Bergen last night, as the journalist rated each song immedialtely after it was played. It`s in norwegian of course so most of you won`t understand a lot, but I guess everbody is familiar with the roll of a dice :)

Mimi, I like that new songs
"Sie können mich anrufen Al"
and
"Diamanten auf der Sohle den Schuhen meiner Schwester"

Better don't try the Norwegian -> German translation

Bodo I do like the mentioned songs :-)
2 words ( Al and "diamanten") make them intelligible for me - but better I use the translator for reading the article...
Got curious, anyway -never tried Norwegian!!
Paul Simon is culture - yesterday I was laughing with the funny zulu english accent By Joseph Shabalala ( DVD arrived)

@Bodo. The translation into english isn´t too bad normally. The translation into german is often very funny - I do that if I want to amuse myself.

Diamonds on the soles of my sisters shoes.

I have no clue where that 'sisters' comes from, but the translation from Norwegian to German adds that line to the (english) song title. Every "her" might become a 'sister' google thinks. Or thats the real meaning of that song, Africa is your sister.

And "you can call me Al" becomes "you can give me a phone call, Al"...well that was clear.

Hughs performance was as magnificent as when I saw it in 1987 - only thing missing was Miriam - I loved the way they performed Soweto Blues in the original concerts

I think Hugh Masekela was the highlight (beside Paul of course). I really missed Miriam Makeba, never saw her on the Graceland tour but at a live concert in 2003. She was magnificant. Thandiswa Mazwai could not take her place, I was surprised how minimal her performance was.

Hugh was also very accessable, at least in Tuschinsky where I shot various 3D photos which he liked, also a photo with a blond woman who was a fan...
