 |  Songwriters Hall of fame honour Bridge Over Troubled Water
NEW YORK ` The iconic ballad ´Bridge Over Troubled Water´ was so stirring that even a young Paul Simon knew he was onto something special when he composed it 40 years ago.
´I thought, ´Hmm. That´s better than I usually write,´´ Simon recalled. ´I was completely surprised that I wrote it ` it was completely unlike anything I had ever done before.´
On last Thursday, Simon´s magical moment ` one of several in his long career ` was honored by the Songwriters Hall of Fame in a ceremony

These news are not new, I just posted them again to have them IN the NEWS section. Brenda only posted a forum thread.
Yes...these awards and ceremonies are so boring now, that I begin to forget about them...are these really news? How many awards did Paul already archieve for ´Bridge´...must be a few dozen.
The picture is not from the event. I fell a little bit scary about posting press pictures....so many copyright problems you hear about.
Actually you can find a few pictures on google search. Hm, maybe I can write a function which includes a google-search image into the news :)

 | Well, I don´t know how these awards rate in the industry but with this award, less than one song per year has been awarded, since 1995. So there are very few, compared to the number of artists that are inducted into SHoF.
This year 9 people inducted.
How prestigious is being inducted into these Halls of Fame these days. ?

 | By the way, Paul Simon is the only artist/group winning the grammy for "Record of the year" three times. (BOTW, Mrs. Robinson, Graceland).
And, more important, together with Paul McCartney is the only artist/group with nominations in every decade since grammies started. |

| For the grammy for Album of the Year that goes to Artist and Producer, does Paul get two grammy statues for being Artist and Producer for Graceland ? I think it is significant achievement to bring out award winning records (album and record of the year) as the Artist and sole Producer. |
