Hot of the presses, this from Warner Brothers:

Paul Simon

New album ´Surprise´ produced by Brian Eno

Set for May 8th release on Warner Bros. Records

One of the world´s most renowned songwriters Paul Simon returns with the timeless quality of his new album ´Surprise´ that is scheduled for a May 8th release on Warner Bros. Records.

´Surprise´ is the first album that Paul Simon has worked on in collaboration with legendary producer Brian Eno. The result is a captivating collection of songs captured in mesmerising style by Eno´s inventive production. ´Surprise´, his first album since 2000´s ´You´re The One´, is reminiscent of classics from his back catalogue such as ´Paul Simon´, ´There Goes Rhyming Simon´ and ´Still Crazy After All These Years´.

Titles set to rank amongst highlights of the set include ´Outrageous´, ´How Can You Live In The Northeast´ and ´Sons And Daughters´.

There are tentative plans for Paul Simon to plan an intimate show in London around the release of the album. Details of the show will be announced when and if they are confirmed.

Paul Simon´s activities since the release of ´You´re The One´ have included stadium shows with former partner Art Garfunkel and the release of a nine-disc box set entitled ´The Studio Recordings 1972-2000´. He also earned an Oscar nominated for the song ´Father And Daughter´ that featured in the animated hit ´The Wild Thornberrys Movie´.

Paul Simon is also set to play at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on May 7th.
http://www.Amazon.com and http://www.cduniverse.com list the album to be released on May 9, while Warner switzerland wrote that the album will be in stores on May 12

The new Simon: Adrians first band

from Bodo , 2006-03-24

Adrian, Pauls 13 year old son has formed his first band. Together with a friend from school he plays in a band named ´Lopside up´

A lot of their songs can be heard on their internet page: http://www.purevolume.com/lopsideup

The band was formed when Adrian moved from NYC to Connecticut 2 years ago. They play a good and pure guitar rock, I think we can expect a lot from them in a few years.

Their first ever recorded song is called ´The right time´, and they have written many more songs in the last months. Their influences are Blink 182, Sublime, Greenday, Goldfinger.

Although he has a very famous dad he decided to use his real name when revealing their band on the internet, and this could cause some problems. Please do not try to find him and ask him questions about his dad (we know how nerving that might be for a 13 year old) - but I hope they can also live with fans who admire their dad´s music and their own music, cause they are very good!
